If you have ever wondered what our bakery looked like, here’s your chance to see our bakers in action. In this interview, we actually show you how to make our stroopwafels. You’ll see the special presses and processes that allow us to make the famous Dutch treat right here in America.
Please feel free to watch the interview to really get an idea about these Dutch cookies Atlanta residents and the whole country are discovering. Here is just a sampling of the report that made us feel like “kings for a day”. And it wasn’t even Koningsdag!.
“What is a stroopwafel?” asked Elise at the beginning of the interview.
“It’s wonderful! It’s heaven!” said Paul. “It’s the greatest thing!”
“Syrup and waffles,” Paul exclaimed after explaining what a stroopwafel cookie is. “Our two favorite food groups at GoodDay Atlanta.”
Then he interviewed our own Guido Vliegen who was busy baking that morning.
“This is a common treat, correct?” asked Paul.
Guido explained that everyone eats stroopwafels all of the time in the Netherlands. They are available in markets, coffee shops, and supermarkets over there.
Like many Americans who aren’t familiar with these Dutch cookies Atlanta bakers are making, Paul asked why or how you eat it.
“With coffee, ice cream, or just because!” answered Guido.
When Paul asked why it was important to make the treats right here in the U.S., Guido explained that typical packaged stroopwafels shipped from Holland maybe a year old. The only true way to get a fresh stroopwafel is to get one from 3Bros Bakery.
Here’s the video! Enjoy a peek at how we make this delicious treat and be sure to treat yourself to some stroopwafels.
