In a product snapshot, Snack Food and Wholesale Bakery Magazine honored 3Bros with an article that detailed why we sell the most famous Dutch cookie. It’s the story of how we went from a novelty at local markets to launching a product line of stroopwafels.
What is a Dutch Cookie?
While there are many types of cookies made in the Netherlands, the most authentic Dutch cookie is probably the stroopwafel. However, it is a fairly rare commodity in the United States.
You may hear this called other names such as a Dutch waffle or a syrup waffle. If you had no idea where they were from, you’d just say a delicious caramel cookie with a surprise when heated by a cup of coffee.
What is Snack Food and Wholesale Bakery Magazine?
Snack Food and Wholesale Bakery is a monthly publication that monitors trends in the bakery industry. The magazine covers every aspect of modern bakeries from ingredients and products to technology and equipment.
There is a certain amount of prestige for a business that is highlighted in Snack Food & Wholesale Bakery, and naturally we at 3Bros would have been delighted to get a mention. Instead we got an entire Product Snapshot article on our origin story, our bakery, and our dedication to the art of the Dutch syrup waffle.
This article was written just as 3Bros was taking its business to a national audience. About the same time, the Covid epidemic and resulting quarantine began shutting down the United States in March 2020.
Despite the challenges, we are proud to say that our Georgia bakery has been gaining a national following ever since we launched. We certainly have expanded our product line since the article appeared in Snack Food and Wholesale Bakery.
Recognizing how often a gift giver wants to find something original, our family bakery has begun creating cookie gift boxes. We have added special chocolate dipped cookies. These combine the refined tastes of European chocolate with the Dutch treat in a way that honors the tradition of the stroopwafel.
Expanding in other directions, we are
supplying wholesalers like coffee shops and other restaurants. This was natural since we already partner with many businesses in Atlanta. No doubt, this is bringing the joys of a stroopwafel to even more people across the country.
Our goal now is the same as it was when we launched. We want to bring the freshest stroopwafels to your door with the minimum of delay and the maximum of authentic Dutch flavor.
